The City Secretary's Office conducts municipal elections as prescribed by the Election Code of the State of Texas and the City Charter. Those elections include the General Election to select members of the City Council, Bond Elections, and other Special Elections.

Benbrook's governing and lawmaking body consists of the Mayor and six City Councilmembers elected for terms of two years. All places, including the Mayor, are elected at large.

Bond Election
The Benbrook City Council has called a Bond Election to be held Saturday, May 1, 2021 to authorize the issuance of $22,000,000 Bonds for a new municipal building for the police department, senior citizen center, municipal court, and city administration offices, and necessary demolition of buildings for such purpose.

Polling Places for Early Voting and Election Day information will be published once determined by Tarrant County.

General Election

City Council General Elections are held annually in November (the first Tuesday after the first Monday) as authorized by State Law. These elections are normally conducted as a Joint Election with Tarrant County.

2021 General Election
Candidate packets, information and calendars for the November 2, 2021 Benbrook City Council General Election will be posted to the website in mid-June 2021. Places up for election in 2021 are: Mayor, Place 1 and Councilmembers, Places 3, 5 and 7.
The Benbrook Library District Board of Trustees and the Benbrook Water Authority Board of Directors are separate entities from the City of Benbrook.  Contact those entities for information on their General Elections.
