After receiving a citation, individuals have 10 calendar days to enter an appearance with the Court, in person or in writing. Telephone calls are not considered an appearance. The Benbrook Municipal Court of Record offers scheduled court sessions, provided the individual schedules a specific docket and date. Re-scheduled sessions are not granted on the same day of a scheduled court date, unless a cash bond is posted. For individuals who do not appear for a scheduled court date, a failure to appear charge and warrant will be issued.
***The Municipal Court of Record is closed on weekends and federal holidays. If your 10th day falls on a weekend or a holiday, you will have until the next business day to appear.
