First elected in 2014, Renee Franklin is serving her fourth term as council member for the City of Benbrook. She has made Benbrook her hometown since 2001. Maggie, a 15-year old dachshund/collie mix is her 4-legged child.  Renee cherishes her immediate and extended family network. 
 
Renee graduated from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a minor in Computer Science. She is pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Texas A&M University, The Bush Online School of Government & Public Service that she plans to complete in 2021.   In 2018 and 2019, Renee earned a Certificate of Recognition from Texas Municipal League for earning 42-hours of Continuing Education Units.  Renee currently works as a Senior Data Engineer for a financial and insurance company and operates Customizing Solutions, a sole proprietorship, providing mathematical mentoring and organizational services.

Renee combines her passion for health and charitable service by supporting numerous organizations and events in and around the Benbrook community, including, but not limited to: Benbrook Trash Bash, Lions Club Chili Supper and National Night Out; 4 PAWS, Inc. (Pets Are Worth Saving), Alzheimer's Association ALZ Stars team member in Cowtown Half-Marathon, American Legion Auxiliary Post 297, Benbrook/Westside YMCA Board, Benbrook Middle-High School Site Based Committee, Lake Benbrook Half-Marathon, Western Hills High School Cougar Pride Foundation, Women's Victory over Violence walk and YMCA Fort Worth Turkey Trot.
