The City Secretary's Office conducts municipal elections as prescribed by the Election Code of the State of Texas and the City Charter. Benbrook's governing and lawmaking body consists of the Mayor and six City Councilmembers elected for terms of two years. All places, including the Mayor, are elected at large.

November 7, 2017 City Council General Election Canceled


At the September 7, 2017 City Council meeting, the City Secretary certified that the following candidates were unopposed in the November 7, 2017 General Election.
Mayor, Place 1                         Jerry Dittrich
Member of Council, Place 3     Larry Marshall
Member of Council, Place 5     Jim Wilson
Member of Council, Place 7     Ron Sauma

City Council adopted Ordinance No. 1413 canceling the November 7, 2017 General Election and declaring each candidate elected to office to serve a two-year term.

The newly elected members will take their Oath of Office and their seat at the November 16, 2017 regular City Council Meeting

The Benbrook Water Authority will conduct their General Election for Board Members on November 7, 2017.  Candidate and election information is posted to their website.
