The
CodeRED Emergency Notification System is a communication service which allows the City of Benbrook to quickly notify citizens of an emergency situation by phone. This service is free to Benbrook residents and businesses.
City of Benbrook residents can also sign up for CodeRED Weather Warning while signing up for CodeRED. The CodeRED Weather Warning will automatically call citizens when severe weather (tornado, flash flood, and severe thunderstorm) warnings are issued by the National Weather Service for your address. The CodeRED Weather Warning System calls only when warnings are issued and only if your address is in the path of the storm.
To receive CodeRED calls, you will need to register your home or business phone number in the CodeRED database, especially if you have an unlisted phone number, have changed your phone number or address within the last year, or you use a cell phone as your home phone.
New upgrades to the system allow users to create managed accounts. Creating a managed account will allow a user to modify their existing notification settings and contact information without the need to call CodeRED to make changes. Users may also add an additional address for the CodeRED system to monitor.
In addition, CodeRED now offers a Mobile Alert safety app that delivers real-time emergency, community, missing person, and severe weather alerts to users within the exact area of impact. Alerts are initiated by public safety officials who use the CodeRED community notification system to effectively alert and inform residents to save lives.
For those needing assistance with registration, feel free to contact the Benbrook Fire Department at 817-249-1727.
