Approval and acceptance of public infrastructure typically involve the following steps:
- Sketch Plat Review
- Preliminary Engineering Review
- Preliminary Plat Approval
- Final Engineering Plan Review
- Final Plat Approval/Conditional Approval
- Issuance of Development Permits followed by the Construction, Inspections, and Acceptance of public infrastructure

Per HB 3492 (passed during the 88th Legislative session of the Texas State Legislature), the city must publish, annually, the hourly rate and estimated direct time incurred by municipal employees for fees charged for the processing, review and inspection of public infrastructure.
