Mark Washburn is serving his third term as councilmember for the City of Benbrook and was first elected in 2008. A Benbrook resident since 1998, Mark is the father of two children.

Mr. Washburn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications degree from the University of New Orleans. In 1991, he earned a Master of Arts in Religious Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. Additional studies include Clinical Pastoral Education from the School of Pastoral Care at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, where he served as hospital chaplain.

Currently, Mark is the Director of the Senior Adult Day Program at James L. West in Fort Worth. His professional background includes over 30 years in media technology and 25 years in church ministry-related work. Mark served on the Benbrook Parks and Recreation Board from 2005-2007 and with the Benbrook Citizens on Patrol. He also served on the Benbrook Water Authority’s Capital Improvement Advisory Committee and the Benbrook Zoning Board of Adjustment.
